I got this Boiron Arnicare Arnica Gel as a homeopathic remedy to some supposed achilles tendinitis/bursitis. I had hurt my achilles many years ago and when it recently started feeling tender/strained, I backed way off right away to give it a little rest. Along with running less miles for a few weeks, I iced and used this product. It has great reviews and the arnica is supposed to be good for inflammation. So I just rubbed it on my lower calf/achilles area where I was noticing the strain feeling (more of a fluttering of the muscle but not pain) about once a day.

I also did some heel dip strengthening exercises with all of this, so it’s hard to tell what exactly worked or didn’t, but the combination made me feel stronger again and I’m back at it.

Is it snake oil? Who knows, but I’d rather try a homeopathic remedy first (arnica + ice) instead of pumping my body full of ibprofen all the time. I’m certainly not against pharmaceuticals, but I try to only use them when absolutely necessary and this product seemed to help me in this circumstance.
