Motor vehicle entrances: Two different roadside parking areas alongside Huron River Drive, and also off of Barton Shore Dr. off of Whitmore Lake Rd.

Pedestrian entrances: None officially, but there may be a trail that goes from near the Bandemer Park bridge that gets into Barton Nature Area that way.

Terrain: Mainly dirt and wood-chipped trails with at least a couple wooden bridges.  Main trail is pretty wide with various single-track loops going throughout the property.  Is often wet and muddy throughout.  All pretty flat–only real hill being by the dam.

Barton Nature Area is a pretty but small park on the northwest side of Ann Arbor.  It’s a pretty one to pass through if you’re in the area.  Very green and scenic with the river and trees.

Points of interest: All pretty scenic in general, but by far my favorite part of the whole park is the dam.  It’s absolutely beautiful and worth pausing your run to take a gander.  (See it from below AND from on the dam.)
