Location: Ann Arbor, MI

Time of Year: April (used to be in the Fall)

Distance options: 5k and 10k

Year(s) completed: 2010 (5k)

The Big House Big Heart run is a pretty exciting and fairly large race in Ann Arbor.  It starts just outside the Big house and goes on a loop north into the downtown area and just follows streets in the area.  The 10k is a double-loop of the 5k course.  The course starts down a moderate hill, then has one decent up hill and another down, with the rest being pretty flat.

The highlight of this event for most is finishing on the actual field of The Big House (the University of Michigan’s football stadium).  It’s pretty fun to go through the tunnel that the players enter on and then do a small loop on the field itself.

I have done this race when it was still in the fall, but in 2012 it will be in April.  I’m not sure if this is a permanent move or if there will be two Big House Big Heart races in Ann Arbor during the year.
