I first saw and tried this Essentia water because it was available at my work’s cafeteria and I was looking to hydrate… so I tried it. The cafeteria employee was touting its goodness and I tried it even though it was a whopping $3 for a 1 liter bottle of water (I think it’s been reduced to $2 since they initially started selling it).

What supposedly makes this water so special is that it’s supposed to be at the “perfect PH” with also electrolytes added in. It was also stored and sold at room temperature, and I was instructed this was the intended way for people to drink it. The bottles instructs you to “feel the difference” while drinking it all day, every day. Now I have only drank 3 bottles total, aka not all day nor every day, but I did not notice a difference.

All in all, I would say the water tasted fine, and that is to say it had absolutely no flavor at all. This is probably what I would look for in water, but with it also being at room temperature this seemed bland.

I don’t think I felt any more hydrated after drinking this than I would anything else, but I’m sure it wasn’t worse. It’s just expensive water. As my work also has both free tap water and free jugged water, I’ll probably just opt for that most of the time.

The only negative is the actual price, and that alone (because it’s just water) is enough for me to probably not purchase it very often in the future.
