The Portland Winter 5k is a fun reprise from the long winter grind and a great way to be around some other like-minded crazies.  Without question, even if happens to be a mild winter, this race will still be frigidly, deathly cold.  Just prepare yourself for that and dress accordingly!

The course it self starts at the high school, does a loop through downtown Portland, then loops back around the school.  There is one good up hill with another couple of rollers, but otherwise it’s pretty flat.  It’s all on pavement, but messy weather can still leave the course slick.

The highlight of this race are the post-race festivities.  There’s usually some good food to be had, including homemade chile (with a delicious vegetarian option too, yum!).  Dress warm and enjoy this one!
