The RooSport 1.0 Small is a small pouch made to be worn on the waistband of athletic bottoms. It has a zippered pocket and a larger non-zippered pocket. It clamps and holds on via a couple strong little magnets. Overall it works really well and is super ideal for holding gear, especially with shorts, pants, or tights that don’t have any pockets at all.

The zippered pocket is great for a key, money, cards, and/or ID. The larger pocket holds my iPhone 4S in it’s case with no problems, but it bounced around too much when I was wearing the pouch in my pelvic area than I was comfortable with. Perhaps if I tucked it on the side on my hip it might have ridden a little smoother.

I was concerned that the magnets may not be good for my cell phone and/or credit cards, but RooSport’s website FAQ states that both are safe around the magnets. It does, however, warn that it will probably erase a hotel key card, but a hotel staff can usually remedy this pretty easily.

Overall I will be using the RooSport a lot. It rides comfortably, doesn’t cost much, seems pretty durable so far, and works well. I’ve used it for quite a few miles already and although it gets sweaty, it’s not stinky once it dries out (but will be easily hand-washable once I decide to give it a wash/rinse). Great product!

  1. The RooSport is very handy. A lot of my running tights and a few of my shorts don’t have pockets and I always find it a pain to run and hold onto my key or tie my key on my shoe. The RooSport attaches very firmly and very easily to your running shorts/tights and it holds keys without you even noticing it is there after the initial minute or so. I normally forget I even have it attached. I normally only use it for keys. However, I have put my iPhone 5 in it once or twice. It definitely is bulky and you notice it a little during the runs. But if you position it comfortably and make sure it can’t shift during the run it works fine. And I didn’t get any chafe marks from it either. This is a very handy additional pocket when you just can’t carry what you need. I definitely recommend this. I haven’t used it for a passport, but one of my friends has these and purchased this specifically to carry her passport during an international marathon that she had to have her passport on her. And she said it worked great. Just another use for it. 🙂

  2. This pouch has continued to come in handy and has held up very well in the past year+. I still like it for holding a car or house key when my running shorts or pants don’t have a good place to put them. Washes well when I need to (air dry) and the magnet is as super strong as ever!
