The RUMBLE 24/7 LED Shoe Lights are LED heel clips designed to go on the heels of shoes for visibility/safety purposes. It offers two modes–solid on and blinking. They are definitely bright–The black ones have an orange glow, while the white ones have a green glow, and both are quite visible from a distance.
Of the six runs I have taken them on so far, they have fallen off twice. The first time I was attempting to wear two at once (one on each heel), and I think it just made the bases of my shoes too wide/bulky (although the devices themselves are quite light). I believe I clipped one with the other while running. The second time one fell off I was just using one and I didn’t even hear it fall off because I was running on a sidewalk that had some nearby traffic, but luckily I was able to find it while doubling back on an out-and-back run. The “teeth” that bite into your shoes could be a little more aggressive, which I think would help keep them attached to your shoe better. They seem to squeeze well enough, but the teeth need a little more bite.
However, my latest run, which was a pretty hard 5-miler on sidewalks (6:15 minute per mile pace), I had no issues with the light. So it definitely does stay on. It may be more of an issue with my form and kicking myself…
No idea how long they last, nor do I know if the battery is self-replaceable (I will report back upon further exploration), but they have lasted through approximately 6 runs/27 miles (3 and a half hours or so), using a mix of solid and blinking modes.
Overall this type of product is a great idea for runners/walkers/bikers who do their sporting in limited or no light. This one in particular works pretty decently and the light is definitely bright. I shall report back when I know more about its durability, including battery life.
