Last Minute Gift Ideas for Runners!

Last Minute Gift Ideas for Runners!

Feel like it’s too late to send your favorite runner a gift? Fear not, there are still great options available! (One of which is a gift card to any of these great sites for amazing products!)

As a model and an athlete, I find that I have to watch everything that goes into my body, and trying to keep within both dietary guidelines is definitely a lot easier when I use Picky Bars & Run Gum in my daily routine. Picky Bars ( are gluten-free and super tasty.  Run Gum ( delivers caffeine to your body without the added weight of liquid in your stomach if you’re a coffee drinker. Run Gum has a secondary function for me for sure- I use it on set when I’m losing focus to shoot! Both of these items helped me get through my first cross country nationals race 🙂

Hate running in the cold? Well, so did I. But I’ve learned to love it a little bit more since picking up the right gear. I am a HUGE fan of the Nike Flash & HyperWarm series in the winter! The Flash series ( keeps you seen at night and in bad weather conditions on the roads, and the HyperWarm ( can be worn not only to run but under other layers of clothing while out and about in the daily cold. I find the HyperWarm products to be especially helpful while layering for fashion week castings in January!

When it comes to the most badass gear of them all, nothing can compare to the Nike Oregon Project. If the fact that Mo Farah, Galen Rupp, Shannon Rowbury, Jordan Hasay, and Mary Cain wear these singlets isn’t enough, that winged skull should be more than enough to sway any hardcore runner. Seeing that skull is enough to scare any potential rivals far, far away. Shannon Rowbury is a rockstar and I want to be a rockstar just like her.

A running vest is SO helpful in the winter months- my mama and I love our Oiselle Katron Burgen vests. We find that the Burgen color goes with anything! (And I mean anything, I wore it to Thanksgiving dinner this year.) ($175)

An easy gift for any runner? Go to and order one, or find it at your local running specialty shop. I take mine with me and use it on set while we have downtime. It’s easy to use and quite portable. (starts at $34.95)

No runner is EVER unhappy with another hoodie sweatshirt. Ever. Especially from any of the following brands- I live in these sweatshirts! Love them all! Disclaimer: Nick’s signature comes separately from the Brooklyn Run Co sweatshirt (

If it’s good enough for Olympians Kara Goucher, Nick Symmonds, and Alysia Montano, it’s sure to be good enough for you. Check out Soleus Running watches at their site or get the really cute Oiselle collaborations below!

Lauren Fleshman is my homegirl, and the Believe journal is her way of training alongside of you. Crafted for those of us that long for the old-fashioned pencil-to-paper regime of tracking our training, she gives you national champion-worthy advice along the way. It’s a very luxurious-feeling, heavy-bound cover that is wonderful to actually hold on to. It’s like having her next to you with every step you take! ($18.95)

Believe Training Journal by Lauren Fleshman and Roisin McGettigan-Dumas

For that super-focused runner that craves all things life has to offer- speed, fun, and lessons learned on the track, give them the gift of an Olympic story. The story Nick Symmonds weaves, that is, in his autobiography Life Outside The Oval Office: The Track Less Traveled. ($18.42)

If you’d like to get some insight into what the book has in store for you, you can read my review of it here:

Are you stuck REALLY last-minute and have no idea what to do? If your runner is a die-hard #TrackNation super fan, there’s nothing better than Flotrack Pro to make them happy. Grab a subscription to the site here ( and watch them happily be inspired by the best athletes our sport has to offer.

Let’s not forget that even the best runners have to cross train. The best cross-training workout I have ever done is at Title Boxing Club in NYC. These trainers had me getting #LaurenFleshmanAbs within a month! If you’re in NYC, I highly recommend this workout. It will kick your bum! Don’t forget to let Michael Tosto, the owner, know that I sent you! You can try a free workout on me 🙂

Looking to simply get faster, stronger, and better as a runner in general? And you are looking into a personal coach or maybe a change in coaching? Look no further than my Coach Rob DeCarlo.

Not only has he PR’d in every distance from the 800m – half-marathon in 2014, but he has coached me personally to a new PR this season in less than 3 months worth of training after a 5-month injury hiatus. He is there 110% for all of his athletes- I can contact him about anything with my training, at any time. He’s never failed to steer me in the right direction. I’m very lucky that he chose to work with me. Run him an email at with your goals in 2015 and be sure to let him know that you found him from me! His rates are affordable (trust me, I am not a supermodel, I am definitely shocked that I can afford him on top of everything else). If you mention that you found him from my gift list, he may be able to work with your budget 🙂

Coach and his wife believe in the same items I mentioned above- you can see us saying “Thank You” here!

He is a former Bergen Record Coach of the Decade and will coach you long-distance anywhere in the country, like Brenda Martinez‘s coach, as long as you are willing to put in the time and are dedicated.

So there you have it. I think these are the best tools that helped me run better this past year. I hope you find it helpful as well! Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a wonderful and safe New Year!

*As of this publication, Run Gum will not have Christmas Day delivery. But Run Gum and Oiselle have gift cards available, as do Nike and Soleus Running.
