The Asics Hyperspeed 4 is my latest middle distance racing flat (I started with the older DS Racer then the Hyperspeed 3) and I truly love it.
After many, many miles in my trainers that aren’t even that clunky, strapping a pair of these on for a race feel SO GOOD. Very light and comfy with enough support that I choose these for all distances from a 5k to the half marathon. I even ran a trail half in the version 3 of the shoe and they held up great and kept my feet and legs happy.
I’m pretty light so that’s why I think this shoe works so well for up to the half. Some may want more support for that distance, so then I’d recommend the Asics DS Racer.
Bottom line is that my racing experience is made better because of this shoe.
