The Dexter to Ann Arbor is definitely a fun early-summer race.   Although the expo and in-race support seem to offer less compared to other big-ish race (generally over 6500 finishers total, half of which do the half marathon), the post-race festivities and course make up for what else may be lacking.

For the half marathon, runners get bussed out to Dexter from downtown Ann Arbor, MI and start running a small loop in town there.  The rest of the course is primarily following very scenic and rolling Huron River Drive and ends in downtown Ann Arbor.

For at least the past several years, the race takes place on the same day as Ann Arbor’s “Taste of Ann Arbor” festival–which brings the city’s fine dining out to the streets for lots of delicious sampling and socializing.  This seems like a great way to spend a couple hours after a nice morning run!
