I prefer headbands to hats in the winter unless it is subzero, because I have a lot of hair and keeping a hat on is a challenge. This is a nice headband for the winter. It is wider on the top of the head than it is at the base. It is scrunched where it goes behind you’re head so it stays better, especially if you wear your hair in a ponytail. The “outsides” of the band are a little tighter than the middle/width part, which is nice because then it doesn’t slide around much. It stays in place well and the middle part is looser so it doesn’t feel very tight on your head. It is also nice and warm. I ran long, chilly runs in this hat and had no problem with my ears getting cold. I would definitely recommend this for the winter months.
